Question 1: What talent acquisition / recruitment marketing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic have you experienced so far or forecast experiencing?

The primary impacts of COVID-19 and social distancing on healthcare recruitment marketing and talent acquisition relate to "going virtual" (video interviews, virtual hiring events, etc.) and changes in hiring needs.

We have stopped the hard recruitment efforts and are being sensitive since our target audience is the frontline healthcare workforce.”

Question 2: If you are seeing (or are forecasting for) a change in need for new hires, what does that look like for your business?

In healthcare specifically, we're seeing that hiring needs are generally increased due to COVID-19, whereas other industries are typically seeing the opposite or are unchanged.

Question 3: If you're currently hiring, how is your organization keeping up as it relates to talent supply vs. demand?

Talent supply vs. demand is typically challenging in healthcare, even before COVID-19 and especially for hiring registered nurses, and it's even more so now. Many healthcare companies need more hires but cannot get them fast enough.

Question 4: How is your organization currently responding (or planning to respond) to COVID-19 as it relates to your talent acquisition / recruitment budgets?

Many healthcare companies and hospitals are challenged with increased hiring needs, but no changes or increases to their recruitment budgets. This means that recruitment advertising effectiveness and cost-efficiency is more important now than ever in order to get more hires needed within the same (or lower) budgets.

Question 5: Because of these challenging times, are you more or less likely to try out new recruitment marketing / talent acquisition vendors or services?

With all the uncertainty during this time, almost all healthcare companies who responded said they were unsure about whether or not they would try new vendors at this point, or they are less likely to try new vendors our right now. That means, again, that their current recruitment media mix efficiency and effectiveness will have to be improved across the board.

Question 6: What are things that you're doing in your talent acquisition and recruitment marketing strategies because of COVID-19?

The top things that talent acquisition and recruitment marketing teams are doing in response to COVID-19 includes virtual recruiting strategies (virtual interviews, virtual hiring events, etc.) and focusing on updating employer brand and recruitment content (adding information to careers site and other employer brand channels, updating job titles and/or job descriptions to include COVID-19 information, etc.).
